Our Actions
Affected by declining birth rates and social transformation, construction engineering relies on migrant workers to fill labor shortages. Taking Kedge as an example, approximately 533 migrant workers from Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia work across Taiwan. To practice the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Kedge Construction’s establishment of a DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) friendly workplace has been a continuously promoted goal in recent years, providing colleagues from Southeast Asia with opportunities for self-growth outside of work through courses (health and sports), and fostering more friendly communication and harmonious relationships among multinational colleagues through activities.
Highlights
Cross-Cultural Integration Sharing Health Knowledge and Specialty Rice Foods
We held a “Health and Rice Food Culture Seminar” at the Taishan Zhongshan Section construction site, inviting physical therapists and “Kitchen God at Home” to share on-site, allowing migrant workers and domestic colleagues to learn effective stretching exercises with professional physical therapists to help colleagues relieve stress and fatigue from work, and gain deep understanding of the unique aspects of Taiwan’s rice food culture.
Colleagues of all nationalities gathered together to stretch their bodies and make grass jelly cakes. In addition to gaining health knowledge, traditional Taiwanese cuisine allowed them to experience the unique charm of Taiwan culture up close, and cross-cultural exchanges enabled colleagues to learn from each other and grow together, continuously deepening their understanding!
Kedge Construction, upholding the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, will continue to hold cultural prosperity activities, promote construction site exchanges, and create a vibrant and harmonious working environment.
Taiwan-Vietnam Partnership Integration: The Intersection of Arm Wrestling and Culture
We invited the NPO group “Viet in Chiayi Cultural Station” to hold a “Partnership Prosperity – Taiwan-Vietnam Arm Wrestling Exchange Competition” at the engineering office in Miaoli, promoting colleague interaction and exchange. Through friendly competition, we not only demonstrated team spirit but also deepened understanding and connection among international colleagues. Experience traditional Vietnamese costumes, cultural ceremonial exhibits, and authentic Vietnamese cuisine on-site, enhancing mutual cooperation spirit and cultural integration, creating a relaxed and pleasant workplace atmosphere.
