Words From The Chairman

Facing the challenges brought by extreme climate and rapid international political and economic changes, the world is experiencing unprecedented environmental and social impacts. Kedge Construction deeply understands that enterprises are a key force driving economic and social progress, and should courageously undertake the mission of environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance (ESG). Working together to build sustainable cities is not only Kedge’s founding intention but also our commitment to future generations. We continue to deeply embed ESG principles in corporate management, hoping to move forward alongside all stakeholders to create a stable and net-zero sustainable future.

In 2024, Kedge undertook a total of 31 construction projects with a total contract value of NT$74.6 billion, covering major new projects including Chiayi C613, TSMC AP5B-CUP, F22P3CUP, AP7P1-Office, and Logistics Center of Southern Taiwan Science Park, with contract amounts of approximately NT$22.8 billion; other projects such as Taoyuan Exhibition Center and Kindom Landmark residential construction were completed and settled, with contract amounts of approximately NT$6.8 billion. The annual consolidated operating revenue was NT$14.234 billion, maintaining parity with NT$14.292 billion in 2023; consolidated net income after tax was NT$874 million, a slight decrease of 11.7% compared to the previous year. Total revenue (including non-operating income) was NT$14.328 billion, a marginal decline of 0.27%; operating expenses were NT$13.224 billion, an increase of 0.91% from the previous year, with overall operations remaining stable and steadily advancing toward the goal of sustainable construction.

As a member of the Kindom Group, Kedge upholds the group’s five blueprints: “Green Home, Smart City, Innovate Together, Integrity Enterprise, and Happy Enterprise,” actively implementing sustainable actions. Since 2024, the company headquarters and all construction projects have comprehensively implemented and passed ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, strictly controlling potential pollution risks during construction through environmental risk assessment and systematic management. Simultaneously, we have passed SBTi review, committing to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions by 25% compared to 2022 levels by 2030, demonstrating Kedge’s determination and concrete actions toward carbon reduction.

In terms of technological innovation, Kedge continuously deepens BIM integrated applications, combining facility management (FM) with carbon emission research, extensively implementing low-carbon construction methods such as precast and aluminum formwork, and adopting high-circulation building materials and low-carbon concrete. Construction sites across Taiwan have simultaneously installed air and noise monitoring systems to proactively reduce construction’s environmental impact. Our excellence in quality has been repeatedly recognized, including both “Taoyuan Exhibition Center” and “Nanmen Building” winning National Excellence in Construction Awards; in Taipei City’s Labor Safety Awards, we swept four honors including “Outstanding Unit Award,” “Outstanding Personnel Award,” “Workplace Peace of Mind Award,” and “Safety Innovation Award,” and have consistently achieved outstanding results in the Golden Safety Award and New Taipei Construction Safety Award.

We firmly believe that talent is the foundation of sustainability. Kedge focuses on “Talent Sustainability, Shared Growth,” establishing competitive compensation systems and a warm workplace culture, with employee average salary increases reaching 4.5% in 2024. Meanwhile, we care for the health and well-being of all colleagues, including domestic employees, migrant workers, and subcontractor partners, all incorporated into workplace health management programs. Kedge further combines negative carbon advocacy with inclusive activities, rallying employees to participate in beach cleanups, tree planting, and friendly farming, extending green actions from the workplace to families and society.

In terms of social care, Kedge continues to promote the “Repair and Recycle Program,” upholding the original intention of “one construction site protects one family,” repurposing construction site surplus materials and rallying cooperative manufacturers to participate together. In 2024, we completed repairs for 128 households, including 10 disadvantaged families, while the other 118 households responded to the TSMC Charity Foundation’s call to participate in post-disaster repairs following the 0403 Hualien earthquake, demonstrating the circular spirit of mutual benefit and sharing. We also collaborate with the “Happy Repair Team,” 1919 Food Bank, and local governments to expand diverse partnerships and amplify social impact.

Continuing founder Mr. Ma Yu-Shan’s deep care for education and reading, in 2024 Kedge donated NT$6 million to the “Kindom Yu San Education Foundation,” supporting the production and broadcasting of the “Celebrity Study” program and architectural arts lectures, continuously cultivating a scholarly society and enriching cultural foundations.

Moving toward a sustainable future, Kedge Construction will continue to uphold the entrepreneurial beliefs of “integrity, quality, service, innovation, and sustainability,” working hand in hand with benchmark enterprises domestically and internationally, using professional capabilities to build sustainable cities one by one, jointly realizing a beautiful future that is visible and achievable.
