The Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture (FANCA) has released Taiwan’s first localized implementation guide for the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), together with a publication showcasing corporate practices in natural carbon sinks and biodiversity conservation.
Kindom Group’s long-term forest restoration initiatives in Yilan and Chiayi are featured as representative cases from Taiwan’s construction industry. The projects bring together FANCA, academic institutions, local communities, and corporate resources to advance forest restoration and biodiversity.
Restoring Forests and Habitats
In Yilan, Kindom Development supports a 20-year forest restoration initiative in the Songluo community, combining forest restoration with biodiversity monitoring. Infrared cameras have recorded wildlife including Swinhoe’s pheasant and small Indian civet, providing valuable ecological data.
In Chiayi, Kedge carries out “Working Together to Plant Trees and Protect the Home of Formosan Giant Cicadas.” The project restores previously disturbed forestland with native species, including Reevesia formosana, to rebuild habitat for the Formosan giant cicada while supporting carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
Kedge also uses drone surveys, infrared cameras, and acoustic monitoring to track forest growth and wildlife activity. Local communities, ecological experts, employees, and their families are invited to participate in environmental education and conservation activities.
Through long-term collaboration with FANCA and local partners, Kindom Group is turning natural carbon sinks and biodiversity conservation into practical, measurable action while strengthening connections between people and nature.
