Kindom Group Removes 895 kg of Marine Debris from Zhongjiao Bay

Kindom Group companies Kindom Development, Kedge Construction, and Global Mall joined the “Restore Our Seas” initiative organized by Business Today, taking part in a beach cleanup at Zhongjiao Bay in Jinshan, New Taipei City, alongside corporate partners and volunteers.

Following Typhoon Fung-wong, large amounts of marine debris had accumulated along the coast. Across a 300-meter stretch of shoreline, volunteers removed 895 kilograms of waste, including fishing nets, Styrofoam, buoys, and tires. Some of the larger items required several people to haul them off the beach.

Over the past five years, the “Restore Our Seas” initiative has removed more than 15,000 kilograms of marine debris. Collected PET bottles have also been recycled into 16,000 pairs of traditional blue-and-white slippers, extending the initiative beyond cleanup efforts to promote resource recovery and circularity.

“Beach cleanups are like the myth of Sisyphus—as long as people are here, waste will continue to appear,” said Yung-Huang Liang, publisher of Business Today. “We need to keep taking action so our coastlines are not forgotten.” Through continued participation in environmental initiatives, Kindom Group is turning its commitment to sustainability into action. By bringing together businesses, partners, and volunteers, the Group aims to support marine conservation while contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
